Bull's eye windows which appeared in the 16th Century are basically dormer windows which have become circular or oval. It was not till the 19th Century that their use became widespread, particularly in towns where the spaces under the roofs had been transformed into accommodation.
In various styles and shapes ranging from simple to richly decorated with leaves and rosettes, bull's eyes are typical of the lovely classical roofs the beauty of which they enhance. Thanks to their mastery of manufacturing techniques, the Ateliers d'Art Français can produce them in harmonious, consistent series.
